Many good tips to use
This is almost a complete reprint of Mr. Fel's first book, "Master Pool". I has some new stuff, but it lacks the 1-pocket section. Still a great book, but I'd get Mastering Pool instead of this one if you only want to purchase one of them.
this is one of the best of all time in terms of pool instruction/advice. not too many books have a section on straight pool--the original game that some call the "chess" of pool playing.
The one constant in my pool life from my first days banging balls around to my current much more beautiful game has been George Fels. When he passed I picked this and a few other Fels classics. Great Book
Been playing in APA for couple years and content of this book didn't help much. Illustrations could be better and explained better. Not what I was looking for. Not what an APA or any league player who is familiar with game is looking for. My search for a good book continues.

This guy has some good information.
This truly is a great book on the topic, and one of the best books I've ever read covering pool. It does cover mostly straight pool (aka 14.1 continuous); however, those topics spill over to one pocket, bank-shot games, and even 8-ball and 9-ball. If you are just learning pool (i.e. less than 500 hours at a table), do not buy this book. You will be disappointed because of your limited experience as a player. If you are just learning, I suggest "99 Critical Shots in Pool" by Ray Martin. For novice and intermediate players, 99 can help players immensely. Also, 99 is written in a fun, creative way. This book is not fun; however, if you are an advanced player (i.e. pool most-likely isn't "fun" any longer), you can learn a great deal about the game from this book from its great diagrams and great explanations. This is a book that you can read about 10-15 pages and then you have to set it down to absorb what you just read.
